What type of venue is Holbrook Manor and how old is the building?

Holbrook Manor is a privately owned quintessential English Georgian country house wedding venue with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, set in twenty acres of unspoiled woodland and rolling pastures. Over 800 years old, the venue is situated in the heart of the Wessex countryside, on the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.

Holbrook House was once owned by the famous General Shrapnel, and the earliest known owner was Giles Hose (1201-02). It was in 1998 that the new owners, John and Pat McGinley, took over the hotel and embarked on a refurbishment programme and development which included the health suite, indoor pool and garden rooms.
